Since I bought this car, the driver’s side lock has been all goofy and would only lock with a very specific combination of power locks/flipping it over. Now, it’s gotten to where the key won’t unlock it from the outside and you have to open the trunk, which engages the power locks, to get the door open. So I decided to tear into this, and a full day of work later, am no closer to figuring it out. Pulled the entire lock actuator out of the door, and everything seems to operate fine, nothing needs lubrication. Gah. Help me Honda gods.

Honda Gods say that somebody tried to steal it at some point and dun fucked something up.
Thank me later.

Yeah, I kinda figured, although they must have been the most incompent thief ever. I mean, I’m pretty sure stealing Hondas 101 is a gen ed course at carjacking school. Yet somehow it’s never been reported stolen.
Anyway, I can’t find what they messed up. Everything looks OK, but I may end up just replacing the whole actuator. Which will suck.

Does the key turn in the lock? If yes is the rod still attached? If yes you need the whole latch

Yeah rods were attached, decided to replace the whole latch mechanism. Harder than it sounds, b/c it’s held in by 3 screws, all of which kept stripping at the junkyard before they’d break loose. Tried 2 yards, 4 Integras, and several Accords before I found a 3.2 CSL with a similar mechanism that came out
